Something special for class 8: Group picture with the artist himself

On Saturday, May 13th 2006, the pupils of class 8b at Hohenthann-Neufahrn High had quite a special day: The American pop artist James Rizzi who was visting Oberlindhart to open an exhibition of his pictures at gallery Zettl, did not only have a look at the artwork the students presented him with but signed it and even added some lines himself.

The artwork had been done in an inter-class art project. Ms. Wargitsch-Fischaleck, class 8 b’s teacher, had heard about Rizzi’s visit to the region and wanted to combine the event with a project to which the pupils devoted a lot of time. Many invested extra hours to get everything ready for the very event. James Rizzi loved the result and was quite impressed by its enormous size:16m²!
