Sin. New York/ Duisburg - Since March 2nd, 2007 one of the latest Rizzi paintings can be seen at a rather unexpected place: not in a gallery but in Duisburg's newly opened casino. Germany's Westdeutsche Spielbanken GmbH & Co. KG, one of the major institutions for gambling, has asked the US-American pop artist to create a design for the new game 'King Kong Cash' and the result is as colourful as can be expected of a mature Rizzi. It shows a New York of brightness, of smiling houses and weird and funny faces - on top of which we can see King Kong, having climbed the Empire State Building and holding a beautiful blond girl in his hand. This way, Duisburg's new money-catcher is also a genuine eye-catcher. Since 80% of a casino's total turnover are going directly to the German Fed and are reinvested in social projects, however - in this respect Germany's taxation system is rather strict - Rizzi can hardly be associated with the 'dark' aspects of gambling. In spite of the latter, he admits that he is not that much of a gambler himself. 'If I had to chose a game I would prefer to play poker because, then, I can also employ strategic thinking.'
