Gone with the wind charity

350 signed and serially numbered copies of "Gone with the wind"

At first, the idea was to donate the money to the victims in New Orleans, but soon it was clear that they were well looked after, at least very much better than the victims of another contemporaneous catastrophe: the victims of the earthquake which jolted Pakistan in October 2005 and which caused widespread destruction; a catastrophe in which more than 80.000 lost their lives and more than 2 million people their homes.

The victims of the earthquake in Pakistan
In his acceptance speech Rizzi emphasised that success cannot be taken for granted and that he regarded is as a great privilege to be fortunate.
To express his gratitude he donated a check of 25.000 € to Dr. Esfandiar Modjahedpour of Lions Club Krefeld-Rheintor in cooperation with whom Rizzi’s construction “Gone with the Wind” is sold. Rizzi and his publisher Bernd Feil pass any profit on to the final recipient, the German medical aid organization action medeor.

When thanking James Rizzi, Bernd Pastors, director of action medeor, emphasised the importance of a steady support of the victims, which was the more important as some relief organizations too soon left the stage once the media hype was over. The disastrous consequences were unfortunately more persistent, however. Thus, any support was more than welcome.
